The work of Berlin based photographer Jan Bechberger impress with a fresh, modern look off the beaten track of classic creative stock photos.

Born in Kaiserslautern, Bechberger studied to become a special education teacher before spending several years abroad in Barcelona, Spain, and completed a postgraduate degree in photojournalism and a master's degree in digital arts. Then working as a web developer and IT journalist.

Since 2009, Jan Bechberger has been a Berliner by choice and works as a photographer in the German capital, where he specialises in event, reportage, people and lifestyle photography. Here he studied photography at Imago Fotokunst Berlin, at the Berlin Ostkreuzschule and at the Neue Schule für Fotografie Berlin.

The most important thing in his work is his sense for defining moments, atmosphere and perspective and his love for bizarre everyday occurrences. Additionally, he has an eye for formal and aesthetic architectural and urban views. Although he likes blurs and a cinematic look, he also enjoys brightly coloured and flashed images.

Jan Bechberger has been a member of the photographer collective "CameraD" since 2016 and a founding member of the Berlin photographer group "Das Kollektiv" since 2021.
