Michael Glass is a sports photographer based in Brisbane, Australia. He covers local sport within the Brisbane area; mainly the Queensland Premier Rugby competition and the Queensland teams playing in the Victorian Football League (Australian Rules Football).
His images perfectly capture the energy of the sport he photographs. This year, Michael will cover the VFL Grand Final, Queensland Premier Rugby Finals Series, AFLW Grand Final, and Australian Summer of Cricket (Test series, ODIs, IT20s, Big Bash League).
Michael Glass spent 23 years in the Australian Army and picked up a camera as a way to heal from the trauma of such a career.
"I shoot sport because I'm an over-thinker", Michael says. "Sports photography allows me to stay in the moment and not stress too much on what is to come, or what has been. In essence, it's a form of mindfulness for me."
