Her photograph, capturing Novak Djokovic on Wimbledon Centre Court, was selected by the public from a shortlist of standout editorial images and received more than 60% of the total votes.

Chloe Knott was officially awarded during a ceremony held at Church House Westminster. The evening also featured a recorded video message from Keir Starmer, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, who addressed the audience with a tribute to the industry: “Your work can show the truth of a moment, can capture an audience, and bring the strange world of Westminster to life in a way that nothing else really can. And, at this time of rising AI, we remember that the human beings behind the camera - the people who take, edit and publish the pictures - are vital, recording history as it unfolds.”

Reflecting on the ceremony, Amadeja Plankl, the Director of International Partnerships for Editorial & Creative Content at IMAGO, shared: “A heartfelt thank you to The UK Picture Editors Awards for hosting such a wonderful evening at the stunning Church House Westminster. It was a pleasure to spend time with our esteemed partners and be surrounded by so many talented individuals. We were honored to sponsor the Photograph of the Year and would like to extend our warmest congratulations once again to the winner, Chloe Knott, as well as to everyone who participated in the competition. Your talent and dedication continue to inspire.”

Adding to this, Andrés Benedicto, the Director of International Partnerships & Sports Content at IMAGO, commented: “I had the honor of presenting the IMAGO Photograph of the Year to the incredibly talented Chloe Knott at the UK Picture Editors Guild Awards. It was a truly inspiring evening celebrating the power of storytelling through images. Congratulations to Chloe and all the nominees for their outstanding work.”

The award also recognises two outstanding runners-up. Second place is awarded to Chris J Ratcliffe for his photo titled ‘Migrants' Dinghy Crossing English Channel’ and the third place goes to Victoria Jones for her portrait of the Princess of Wales at Sandringham.

The IMAGO Photograph of the Year celebrates excellence in editorial photography. The final selection was determined by public vote, highlighting the power of visual storytelling to connect with audiences. In its inaugural year, Jane Barlow won the title with her last picture of Queen Elizabeth II.

First introduced in 2022, the IMAGO Photograph of the Year was the first in the Guild's award history to be decided by public voting. Established in 1977, the UK Picture Editors Guild represents picture editors from leading British national and regional newspapers, celebrating the best in photography.
