IMAGO Partner and Veteran Photographer Frank Hormann Passes Away at 64

Berlin, Germany, 11.11.2024:

Photographer and co-founder of the “Fotoagentur Nordlicht”, Frank Hormann, has passed away at the age of 64 after a short, serious illness.

As a recognized and inspiring personality in photojournalism, Hormann documented politics, culture, sport, and everyday life in the North in depth and detail for over three decades. Since founding the Fotoagentur Nordlicht together with Thomas Häntzschel in Rostock in 1991, Hormann's work has been published in many media outlets, national publications and cultural institutions such as theaters and museums.

Known for his dedication to traditional analog photography, Frank Hormann was admired for his instinctive image compositions and keen sense of humor, which lent authenticity to each project.

The Fotoagentur Nordlicht has been an IMAGO partner since 2016. We have come to know and appreciate Frank Hormann as a very approachable, time-critical and committed photographer.
