Iranian photographer Maryam Majd specializes in shooting women and female athletes since starting her career in 2004.
With women's sport in Iran becoming more visible in a religious, male-dominated society since the national revolution in 1979, Maryam Majd believes her social opportunity and privilege to document cultural events and sports competitions once held behind closed doors in the pursuit to equality.
Attending sports events of great significance, including the first soccer game that permitted women spectators to attend the live game since 1980, Majd has received numerous accolades and accreditation so far in her career.
