Sports photographer Mateusz Birecki from Wrocław, Poland covers a range of disciplines from football and track and field, to ski jumping and cycling.
He started out by taking photos of his local basketball team and it quickly developed into a passion, striving to show emotion, the nuanced and imperceptible in his work. Not only is he a sports photographer, but Birecki is also an athlete himself: he has cycled 150,000 kilometers across Europe over the last nine years.
Birecki most recently covered the Wanda Diamond League athletics competition, the FIS Ski Jump Summer Grand Prix, and is expected to cover the 2022 Eurobasket tournament and hopefully the Volleyball World Championships in September.
