The World Sports Photography Awards are the only global awards for sports photography and each year honor the best sports images and sports photographers from around the world. From 24 categories, a jury of industry experts selects the images that showcase great moments, emotions, sporting achievements and successes.

Sports photography has a special significance for IMAGO, as the internationally renowned visual content agency had its beginnings 25 years ago with sports photography. Today, IMAGO has one of the world's most extensive portfolios of digitized archival material, covering sports moments from regional to international.
The partnership between IMAGO and WSPA is an important step in furthering the recognition of sports photography and the achievements of its photographers.
