Andrés Benedicto, IMAGO's Director of international partnerships and Sports Content, said:
“It was not an easy endeavour to find a winner due to the high standards. It is really gratifying to see that there are high-quality, independent photographers documenting sporting spectacles across the globe. Through their lens, history stands frozen in awe-inspiring frames. This reassures us that the industry is in good hands. We are very grateful for the hard work of all photographers in 2022. They’ve allowed us to explore the world through their camera lenses, unveiling unique perspectives.”

IMAGO is proud to be a partner of the World Sports Photography Awards and to support photographers and their work. The WSPAs are the only global awards for sports photography. Each year, they recognise the best sports images and sports photographers. A jury of industry experts selects the top images that show great moments, emotions, sporting achievements and successes.
